Make up/Masks
Whenever i put on a mask or makeup, (and depending on what the mask or make up is for) I almost feel like a different person. The mask enables me to do different things than i normally would, just because i dont have to think about what i look like because im wearing a mask. It really all depends what mood I'm in when im wearing the mask, because usually I don't really care how i look anyways.. I mean I can really see how people would act differently because they're wearing a mask, but thinking of it that way doesn't really apply to me. I think its fun to watch professional preformers such as clowns or actors, and try to figure out how they actually act in real life. It's wierd to think that way, but i think it's kind of fun. I think that it'd be hard to be an actor or a preformer as an occupation, because you'd spend so much of you're life pretending to be something you're not. It's wierd watching interviews with people, because when you see certain actors you associate them with roles they've played and assume what they're going to act like. So when they don't act the way you assume they will it's pretty wierd. Sometimes this isn't the case. For example, Robert Downey Jr. most of the time acts how he does in roles. Or he acts in roles as he acts in real life is a better way to say that. I think living a life like that would be fairly stressful however. Look at Owen Wilson for example. When you watch him in certain roles like Wedding Crashers, or some of the other movies he's been in he's always so happy. But just last year he tried to commit suicide. What does that have to say about how actors act in plays and how they really act in real life? I guess you can use masks and make up to a certain extent, and live the fake for a while, but in the end it wears off and gets old.

Ralph Doesn't realize..
The reason why Ralph unintentionally hurts Piggy's feelings is because Ralph really lacks (as a skill) placing himself in other peoples positions. He knows what has to be done in order for them to get saved, he tries to think up new ways that they could be saved, but once it finally comes time for it to happen, it never goes according to plan. That is indeed why Ralph isnt the best possible leader he could be. This is especially shown through Piggy and Ralph's relationship. He doesn't really think that he's hurting Piggy's feelings when he talks about him.
Another reason why Ralph unintentionally hurts his feelings is because he jokes about him when he's with the other boys to get them to like Ralph. Ralph knows that Piggy is weak and vulnerable, so therefore it makes him very fun (and easy) to make fun of. When Ralph and Piggy talk one on one its a lot more serious, and Ralph listens to what Piggy has to say. When it comes time to talk about things and have meetings he views Piggy as a fat child to make fun of. I know it sounds like funny to think of it that way, but like it's pretty much true. He uses Piggy as that little like punch line in any of the meetings.
I guess if you look hard enough, you can find real life examples of this. I mean if you look hard enough in certain classes, certain teachers do the exact same thing that Ralph does. Expose the student's weakness's and laugh about it with the class. I mean like, that would be a very rude thing to do, and the teacher would probably be regarded as a rude person. But im sure it does happen in some classes.

Animal Farm
I'd like to first start off by saying, i thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. Each of the characters really brought their own unique traits and characteristics to the story and made it enjoyable to read to the very end. Orwell really made the animals and what they portrayed obvious to the reader. I mean you could really tell what Orwell wanted to make the reader think of each the animals, and gave each of the animals characteristics based on that. I mean, people usually associate certian characteristics/traits with different animals, so Orwell tried to bring all those characteristics out in the novel. Like when i was reading the book i found myself thinking of the animals as personality traits rather than actual animals or characters (i kid you not) When certain animals entered the scene i could pretty much guess what they were going to say and how they were going to say it. For example, we know in the novel that the sheep really don't have a mind for themselves and just do what they're told, so like i knew they would just follow what Napoleon would tell them. I found the connection from the sheep who really dont have a brain and how they follow around in a flock, really tasteful and sort of funny.
Even if you didn't see the connection to the Russian revolution, (which is fairly hard to do) but i mean if you dont know a whole lot about history or whatever, there is still a general message and theme found here.
Some of the other animals had certain traits and qualities about them that were unique to them depending on the animal.
I found the use of symbols and allusions very very creative and unique. I mean like, Orwell really knew what direction he wanted the book to take and he pulled it off well.
